The Milk Mail
- Modern Georgian Poetry
Once a piece of text is published, it ceases to belong to the author. It belongs to the reader, who can, in most cases, create a new text out of the original one. Besik Kharanauli once said, “The best book of all is the one that doesn’t need the author.”
His earlier works supplied four texts that enabled us to join them to get the so-called ‘author-less texts’. Critics call them retrospective discourse, but does it really matter what term is applied to such literature? The main thing is that we are again dealing with Besik Kharanauli, constantly changing and evolving writer.
THE MILK MAIL is some kind of editorial experiment of publishing Graphic novel by combining 4 important poems by Besik Kharanauli accompanied with the most beautiful illustrations by Teona Chanishvili.
