Tedo Bekishvili was attractively direct, devoid of pomp and false pretense. His extremely balanced nature enabled him to write amazingly honest poems with interesting depths. The urban themes are interwoven with those of the mountains, which offer a subtle gradation of colour and rhythm. Apart from the purely lyrical content, his poems are also interesting due to their form though the poet doesn’t seem to favour any, experimenting with conventional as well as unconventional verse forms.
