Like the rest of Nodar Dumbadze’s prose, the story is written with an infinite love and sympathy for people. The teenage protagonists, Ianguli and Jemal, are competing with each other in an attempt to establish themselves. And yet, their competition never becomes serious because they respect and value each other.
"Homeland is much deeper, somewhere inside", Ianguli says as he agrees to board the ship sailing to Greece as his father and many other Greeks return to their historical home country while his heart stays in Sukhumi.
