Translated by Guram Gogiashvili
Ana lives with her beloved man in the 18th century Venice. They try to unveil the secret behind an enigmatic stone ring and a strange saying written on the bottom of a high-stemmed chalice. The lead-grey waters of Venetian canals, a gondolier pierced by an arrow, the old man playing Scarlatti, the love knot undone in front of the carnival attendees and other vicissitudes of the story do not bring us closer to the real explanation of the secret.
Almost three hundred years later a Serbian writer and his wife Liza come across the secret puzzle of the stone ring, the saying and the Spring of the Virgin Mary. Throughout the search and quest for the answer the writer presents his second body theory: the body, which according to the Bible was granted to the resurrected Christ and could, under certain circumstances, be given to humans as well.
