Born in 1954, Zaal Samadashvili is a contemporary Georgian writer.
He graduated from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University with a degree in mechanical mathematics. His first short story BABO WAS WOUNDED was published in the magazine Tsiskari in 1983. He is the author of the script for the artistic film TEMO. The script for the short film GARSEVANI was also written by him.
At present Zaal Samadashvili is the chair of Saakashvili Presidential Library board.
He has published some collections of prose: ALI IN THE SOOT-COVERED GLASS; GYPSIES; DUET; SANDRO KANDELAKI'S BOOT; SORT STORIES FOR BOYS; IN THE CONTEXT THE CONTEXT OF SELF-PORTRAIT BOOKS; 60 AND JUNKER ERISTAVI'S BOOTS.
He was bestowed with the literary SABA Award for the book JUNKER ERISTAVI'S BOOTS in the category The Year’s Best Prose Collection in 2016.
