Levan Leonidze, Giorgi Leonidze’s older brother, was a tall, handsome man, an excellent professional, extensively educated – exactly the type of an intellectual who would not have escaped the Soviet purges of 1937.
He was executed in 1944 but he managed to serve his country as a highly knowledgeable veterinarian and as a loyal citizen. His contribution was more than one could expect from any fellow countryman.
The book is a collection of unknown diaries of Levan Leonidze and his wife Maria Hofmann.
