Due to his complicated life full of hardship and tribulations, Grigol Robakidze’s archive is inaccessible for his biographers. In fact, his archive is considered lost and only portions of his literary work have reached us.
    

The present collection of his poems gives only a fragmental impression of his rich legacy and enormous contribution to Georgian poetry. However, it is suspected that some of his poems are lost because his letters contain references to the titles unknown to us. 

It is likewise important to consider the time when he wrote his poems. The advance of new literary values, stylistic trends and novel ways of verbal expressions greatly affected Grigol Robakidze’s work. However, poetry was the sacred, clandestine and deeply private matter for him rather than a tribute paid to literary innovations.
