Along with the majority of the intellectuals of the crisis period, Zurab Kakabadze was highly critical of his time. However, his criticism was sorrowful, which did not allow him to be biased. In one of his last poems he says "But still, the past was beautiful". Indeed, "beautiful", despite the problems connected with the freedom of expression.
Our well-read public is familiar with Zurab Kakabadze’s poetry. If his philosophical articles and essays ever lose their topicality, his poetry will never be forgotten.
