Boy, Don’t Embarrass Me!
- Modern Georgian Poetry
“I dedicate this book to the wonderful youth of my country, those who rejoice at present and look hopefully into the future,” were the words Mukhran Machavariani chose for the introduction to one of his old publications.
Years have passed since the book was published, so the young people of those days are grey-haired nowadays. It seems that the dedication is now addressed to their children and even grandchildren.
Most of the poems have dates, except those written in 1946 – 1956. The publication is dedicated to the poet’s 85th anniversary. Nana Machavariani is the compiler and editor of the present publication.
