Tsira Kurashvili

Born 1 May 1962.

 

In 1987 she graduated from the Georgian Philology Department of Kutaisi Pedagogical Institute.

 

In 1993 her poems were included in the anthology of young Georgian poets. Her collection of poems The Tarmac Flowers was published in 1996, followed by a fairy tale Christesia in 1999. In 2001 she initiated the publication Lile of poems for children by various poets. In 2002 her story Don’t Look Back was named the best story of the year by the periodical Alternativa of the Caucasian House. In 2005 the story was included in the two-volume edition Woman, Image and Problems, published by the Caucasian House.

 

Her other work includes: The Alphabetical Period (poems, 2006), Stories and Short Prose (2008), The Refugees at Kumani Monastery (prose collection, Intelekti, 2011), The Paradise Window (poems, Saunje, 2013), At Playtime (prose collection, Intelekti, 2016).
