Nino Kharatishvili

Born 8 June 1983.

 

After graduating the Documentary Film Department of Shota Rustaveli University of Theatre and Film, in 2003 Nino continued to study in the Academy of Music and Theatre in Hamburg, Germany.

 

In 2008 her play Z proved so successful that she was invited to several festivals. She received the Rolf Mares Award for staging Agonie in Lichthof Theatre and the chief prize of the Heidelberg Theatre Festival for her play Liv Stein. She attracted interested of Verlag der Autoren publishers. Her plays are staged in Vienna, Moscow, Wiesbaden, Berlin, Hamburg, Tbilisi, Bruchsal, Göttingen and Saarbrüken.

 

In 2010 Nino Kharatishvili received Adelbert von Chamisso prize which is awarded by the Bavarian Art Academy and Robert Bosch Foundation.

 

Her novel Juja was published by Intelekti in 2014.
