Through the Caucasus to the Volga
- THE NOBEL PRIZE WINNERS
Translated by Rusudan Makhatadze
The Norwegian explorer, scientist and diplomat, Nansen received the Nobel Peace Prize in 1922. His humanitarian exploration did not restrict with only the North, because he attempted to help the refugees from the Ottoman Empire. In 1925 his involvement brought him to the Caucasus and some parts of the Soviet Union, which he described in his book.
